Now offering remote tuition on Zoom with Digital Exam Entry

Since the start of Covid and the dreaded isolation that accompanied it, we as tutors had to evolve our teaching methods to survive and I embraced remote tuition on the Zoom portal.
This has proved to be a phenomenal success with the Exam results increasing amazingly.
Coupled with delivery of remote tuition, London College of Music Exams also evolved the digital exam platform which enabled pupils to pre-record their examination and submit them for marking at a time that suited them rather than waiting for the seasonal exam sessions.
I have embraced this platform whole-heartedly and I have seen amazing results from my pupils and it has also removed the stress factor of attending an in-person exam.
I will be continuing to offer this exam option for as long as it is available with LCM.

  • As a professional musician and music tutor I can bring over 45 years of performance to my pupils from big stage productions throughout Europe to small humble performances near home and from Orchestras to Wedding Bands.
  • When setting out my mission statement to embark on music tuition my main goal was to ensure that learning music was to be fun .... hence all my lessons are very informal and relaxed.
  • As an Examination Representative for London College of Music (LCME) I can also offer indepth understanding of what it actually takes to achieve those top marks in exams.
  • As I write I can state that to date I have acheived a very high success rate in Practical exams with several pupils now obtaining 100% and also a pupil who has achieved 100% in their first six exams, what an achievement.

  • Now over 25 years in existence we continue to expand and improve our teaching.
We can teach our pupils no matter where their current abilities lie – in the very basics all the way to professional level players. Regardless of your current ability, we can accommodate and augment your skills. Our proven teaching techniques have already helped a host of players, and we relish the positive feedback we get from current and former students.
  • In addition to providing tuition at home, I have also worked in several schools and colleges locally. In Gael Scoil Omagh I provided their tuition in Tin Whistle, Guitar, Bass, Cajun, Traditional Flute, Mandolin, and as Musical Director to their highly successful School Choir and also their Drama department. I provide Piano and Guitar tuition in Drumragh Integrated College and assist in their delivery of GSCE O'Level music, and also Woodwind tutor for DMEP in Letterkenny along with the responsibilty of directing their Errigal Groove Orchestra and in quite a few other schools I enjoy being employed as their pianist for school choir performances.
  • Tuition is offered in Piano, Keyboards, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Tin Whistle, Theory of Music, Guitar, Trad. Instruments and Music Technology.

  • We can also offer assistance with your GCSE or BTEC music in relation to your compositions and instrumental performances.

We currently operate from Newtownstewart and you can contact us on 07747687073 for details.

Musician-led classes

Make the most of your musical journey through our musician-led classes. We believe that the best teachers are those who have worked as professional musicians, and understand first-hand the best tips, tricks and techniques to improve your playing.

We invite all prospective pupils down for a meet-and-greet before signing up for a course of lessons, as we understand it’s important for you to be comfortable with me on a personal, as well as professional level.

Master the basics

Master the basics of your chosen instrument with our beginner classes! Suitable for novices, early beginners, and mature students and these classes are a fantastic way to learn a new skill in a creative environment, as well as meeting like-minded music fans. Under the guidance of a professional tutor and musician, you’ll first master the instrument, learning about hand placement, scales and different chords. You’ll then learn to read and play simple pieces and may even be able to write some of your own music towards the end of the lessons.
