Dorset Pet Scan - Canine and Feline Pregnancy Scanning Services

At Dorset Pet Scan, we offer Pregnancy Confirmation Scanning and Post Whelp Scanning in the comfort of your own home, therefore enabling your pet to feel more relaxed and comfortable during the whole process.

Scans can be carried out from 28-35 days post mate. We can also scan from 35 days up until due date to check puppies are still viable. We will visit you at home, where we find it is more relaxing and stress free for your pet. We are able to estimate gestation age and estimated due date. However this is only an estimate due to elements that may affect a pregnancy. These will be explained during the scan process.

We can also follow through their pregnancy or do a post a whelp scan to give you peace of mind that all pups/kittens have been delivered.

We aim to make the whole process as worry and stress free as possible. Scans are done by applying gel to your pets abdomen, then using an external probe, scanning their stomach to see if there is a visible pregnancy. This is a non invasive procedure so causes no harm or discomfort to your pet. We are unable to confirm numbers as many factors can affect pregnancies, such as reabsorption, however, a rough estimate and estimated due date will be given. If needed, we are always willing to re-scan. We also freeze pictures and record scans as they are done which are then sent to you, giving you a record of the scan undertaken.  

The whole process can take between 30 and 45 minutes. Sometimes a little longer.
